The Reader

By Stephanie Redden

This is in response to Briyanna Maatuk's article "When Did College Become All About Sex?" (Daily Nexus, May 3). What it took Maatuk four years at UCSB to discover about Isla Vista, most students at any university figured...

Damn Skippy: A Battle for Free Speech

By Loren Willams

I don't like the way that the battle against obscenity is going. I'm convinced that ultimately the battle will be lost, much to my delight. For some reason, Americans find the word "fuck" much too titillating to do witho...

Blue Traffic Lights: The Ruthlessness of Terrorism

By Joey Tartakovsky

When Did College Become All About Sex?

By Briyanna Maatuk

It is only in my last year here that I have noticed that UCSB is a world of its own. The fact that I haven't "gone home for the weekend" for the past three years has given me a chance to observe the way people interact i...

Not All Cubans Think Alike; Dictators Have Fan Clubs, Too

By Katrina Hale

While I feel for Henry Sarria's necessary emigration from his native Cuba ("A T-shirt With a History, Daily Nexus, April 30), I feel that I must point out that one ex-patriot cannot speak for an entire dispersed nation o...

A T-shirt With a History

By Henry Sarria

I have decided to go on a mission. This mission will be a simultaneous statement of both fashion and politics. If you think my name made it to Mr. Blackwell's "10 Worst Dressed List" you're wrong. Even if it did, a rat's...

A Few Fixes to Pull Your ‘Puter Out of Slo-mo

By Zachary Carter

When it comes to computers, ignorance is not bliss. Your computer can only do what you tell it to, and I say "your computer" because mine has a mind of its own.

‘Pompous Clown’ Williams Disgraces Nexus, Students

By Bert Viloria

It is rather pathetic that a so-called Nexus columnist like Loren Williams has to resort to his professed xenophobic ideals to pump up his puerile and ignorant rants.

Prettiest Boy in Troy

By system

That new movie about the Trojan War looks pretty cool. My only beef is with the casting. Brad Pitt as Achilles? Achilles' one weakness is supposed to be his heel, not his girlish face.
