At the NCAA West Regional in Eugene, Oregon on Saturday, UCSB cross country ran well against the best teams from the west. The women’s team finished fifth out of 31 teams, behind Washington, Oregon, Stanford, Arizona, and tied with Cal, beating the likes of USF, Cal Poly, and UCLA.
This weekend, UCSB cross country travels to Eugene, Oregon to compete in the NCAA West Regionals on Saturday. The top two teams will automatically earn a trip to Indiana with a spot in the NCAA National Championship on Nov. 22.
The UCSB women’s cross country team won its second consecutive conference title at the 2010 Big West Championship on Saturday Oct. 30, holding off rival Cal Poly 35-37. Senior Amanda Moreno set a course and Big West record of 19:57.0, becoming the first woman to break the 20-minute mark at the conference meet.
