UC Santa Barbara, a world-renowned center for research and progress, immediately took action to fight these claims. UCSB researchers emphasize the critical importance of peer review, unbiased data collection and statistical significance.

“Bruh weed is not bad for you bruh,” fifth-year Earth science major and 68’ block resident Leaf Moonlight said. “I smoke all the time, like every day. And I’ve only had to take CHEM 1B twice!”

With the Trump administration’s continuous investigation into activity on college campuses, rumors spread that UCSB may become a target of MAHA’s new movement. Some even suspect that the government may ban marijuana use on campus and in Isla Vista.

“This is fucking ridiculous. I have always been able to smoke on campus, it’s one of our legal rights as students,” third-year English major Lindsey Kim said. “I’m sorry that U Can Study Buzzed here, but don’t target us for being chill.”

Some Isla Vista community members are so outraged about the potential marijuana ban that they plan to take action.

“We’re planning on organizing a huge protest,” random 55-year-old character of I.V. Adam Weiss said. “I hope we can really shake things up. I think we’re gonna try to loot some of I.V.’s most important landmarks — maybe Farmacy?”

Along with the government’s threat to ban marijuana in Isla Vista, MAHA is also targeting specific demographics. One of the most authoritarian measures that might be taken is to move the legal smoking age from 15 to 21.

“This is totally outrageous,” seventh-grade student at Goleta Hills Middle School Ian Bren said. “I’ve been smoking weed for years with the use of my med card. I can not wait until I’m old and wrinkly to smoke again. This is gonna send me down the alt-left pipeline.”

Amongst the threats that Trump’s administration poses to UCSB, this is potentially the most insane and appalling assault on students yet. University administration, students and families fear the destruction that the potential marijuana ban could have on Isla Vista culture.
