Women’s Center hosts Feminist Book Club

The Women’s Center is hosting a Feminist Book Club on Thursday, April 17, from 1-2 p.m. at the Women’s Center Community Room.

“Join us in reading Everything for Everyone: An Oral History of the New York Commune, 2052-2072 by M.E. O’Brian & Eman Abdelhadi,” the Shoreline description read.

The first 10 people to register for the event on Shoreline will receive a free copy of the book.

UCSB Reads, CCBER hold ‘Delight in Creating Diversity’

UC Santa Barbara Reads and the Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration (CCBER) are holding “Delight in Creating Diversity: Plant native species and tour the Campus Point Restoration Project” on Thursday, April 17, from 2:30-4 p.m. at Campus Point.

“You’ll have the chance to plant native species in soft, sandy soils and learn more about the Campus Point Restoration Project. The tour will also highlight the wildflowers blooming on Lagoon Island following the recent prescribed burn,” the Shoreline description read.

Students may register on Shoreline to attend the event. Further directions will be provided before the event.

MCC hosts ‘Disability Joy’

The MultiCultural Center (MCC) is hosting “Disability Joy: From drowning to dreaming: redefining disability in athletics” on Thursday, April 17, from 5-7:30 p.m. at the MCC Theater and Lounge.

“Join us in redefining disability athletics with paralympic swimmer, Jamal Hill, and UCSB students, Emily Libal, Yao Yao Xiao, and Ashlyn Shelton. During this panel, Jamal will uncover his personal journey on confronting and overcoming the shame associated with his disability,” the Shoreline description read.

Free food from Kyle’s Kitchen will be provided.

Pilipino Graduation holds Senior Breakfast

Pilipino Graduation is holding a Senior Breakfast on Friday, April 18, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

“The Senior Breakfast is more than just a meal—it’s a cherished tradition that brings our graduates together one last time, have breakfast with another, and socialize/network regarding last quarter and post-grad plans,” the Shoreline description read.

Free Filipino breakfast food including rice, meat and eggs will be provided. Students may register at the link on Shoreline to attend.

OISS hosts International Student and Scholar Weekly Friday Social

The Office of International Students & Scholars (OISS) is hosting an International Student and Scholar social on Friday, April 18, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“Whether you’re looking to catch up with friends or make new connections, this is the perfect space to relax and enjoy the global vibes. OISS staff will also be available for support needs,” the Shoreline description read.

This event is open to all international students. Free tea and light snacks will be provided.

UCSB Sustainability holds ‘Natural Dyes for Easter Eggs’

UCSB Sustainability is holding a Natural Dyes for Easter Eggs event on Saturday, April 19, from 2-3 p.m. at the UCSB Storke Family Student Housing Gardens.

“Are you looking for a natural method to dye your easter eggs this year? Join us for a fun and hands-on workshop for kids to learn about natural dyes from the garden and use them to paint their own eggs!” the Shoreline description read.

Butterfly Conservation Club hosts Earth Day Gardening Workshop

Butterfly Conservation Club is hosting an Earth Day Gardening Workshop on Sunday, April 20, from 2-4 p.m.

“Together, we’ll roll up our sleeves, get our hands dirty, and give back to the environment through gardening. Whether you’re an experienced gardener or just starting out, this day is for everyone who wants to contribute to making our planet greener and healthier,” the Shoreline description read.
