UCSB Sustainability hosts Compost Pile Maintenance volunteering

UC Santa Barbara Sustainability is hosting Compost Pile Maintenance volunteering on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 1-3 p.m. at St. Michael’s University Church Community Garden.

“Volunteers will help our Composting Team maintain our community compost piles! Volunteers will assist in building compost piles and adding essential ingredients to existing piles,” the Shoreline description read.

Attendees are encouraged to wear closed-toe shoes and “clothes you don’t mind getting a little bit dirty!”

Take Back the Night holds Sunset Yoga

Associated Students (A.S.) Take Back the Night is holding Sunset Yoga on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 4-5:30 p.m. at Sea Lookout Park.

 The session will be 45 minutes and free food from Hummus Republic will be provided.

Health & Wellness hosts APIDA Graphic Novel Club

Health & Wellness is hosting an Asian Pacific Islander Desi American (APIDA) Graphic Novel Club comics community dinner on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 5-7 p.m. at the Student Resource Building (SRB) Asian Resource Center.

“Join us as we share pizza and discuss why comics are the perfect entertainment to bring communities together,” the Shoreline description read.

This event is co-sponsored by Counseling & Psychological Services; UCSB Admissions; the Equal Opportunities Program; the Asian Resource Center, the Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian Resource Center and Health & Wellness.

Life of the Party holds Cannabis Town Hall

Life of the Party is holding a Cannabis Town Hall on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at Embarcadero Hall.

“Hear from experts and community members sharing their experiences. Your questions and participation are welcome!” the Instagram post read.

This event is open to everyone.

RHA hosts ‘Sunset and Succulents’

Residential Housing Association (RHA) is hosting “Sunset and Succulents” on Saturday, March 1, from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

“Sunset and succulents is an event where we will have fresh succulents for residents to pot themselves. Residents will also have the option to personalize their pots with paint,” the Shoreline description read.

Materials will be provided.

MCC holds ‘Self-Expression in Community’

MultiCultural Center (MCC) is holding “Self-Expression in Community: Trauma-Informed Care at UCSB” on Tuesday, March 4, from 4-6 p.m. at the MCC Lounge.

“The event will allow you to learn about somatic experiencing techniques as ways of releasing energy, writing as a tool for expression, and trauma-informed activism with a focus on developing strategies for personally sustainable activism,” the Shoreline description read.

Food will be provided.
