Hermanas Unidas hosts La Pulguita
Hermanas Unidas de UCSB is hosting La Pulguita market on Thursday, Nov. 14 and Friday, Nov. 15, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Lot 22 lawn.
The small market will feature vendors selling vintage clothes, jewelry, art, trinkets, accessories and more to fundraise for Hermanas Unidas.
Health & Wellness holds Open Awareness Meditation
UCSB Health & Wellness is holding an Open Awareness Meditation on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 12-12:45 p.m. at the Health & Wellness and Women’s Center Community Room in the Student Resource Building (SRB) room 1238.
“Practicing meditation can help manage stress, as well as improve memory and focus. Join us each week for a guided meditation with a certified facilitator,” the Shoreline description read.

ONDAS Student Center hosts Don’t Ghost Your Professor: Utilizing Office Hour
Opening New Doors to Accelerating Success (ONDAS) Student Center is hosting a Don’t Ghost Your Professor: Utilizing Office Hour event on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 1:30-2:30 p.m. at the ONDAS Student Center in Kerr Hall room 1150.
“This program is also specifically dedicated to help first-generation students to navigate the ins-and outs of office hours, such as what the purpose and benefits of office hours are, how to approach faculty and TAs in office hours, and the kinds of topics one can chat about,” the Shoreline description read.
The program is hosted in collaboration with a graduate student mentor.
RCSGD holds Free HRT Injection Supplies Distribution
The Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity (RCSGD) is holding a Free Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) Injection Supplies Distribution event on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 3-5 p.m. at the Pardall Center sidewalk.
“Our free HRT Injection Supplies Distribution Pop-Ups are back up and running for fall quarter! Free needles, syringes, and alcohol wipes for Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), open to all community members!” the Shoreline description read.
This event is in collaboration with the Pacific Pride Foundation, which offers support to the LGBTQIA+ community in Santa Barbara County.

UCSB Sustainability and the Edible Campus Program (ECP) are hosting a “Building a New Habit, Get Your Body Moving in Nature” workshop on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 4-5 p.m. at Sueno Orchard.
“Are you tired of sitting on your desk all day? Here’s your chance to enjoy a relaxing afternoon working out in the outdoors. Enjoy the beauty of nature as you learn new stretching exercises that can help improve better motion in your body and mind,” the Shoreline description read.

The MultiCultural Center (MCC) is holding a What Happens Now? Forging a Revolutionary Feminist Future Ahead event on Thursday, Nov. 14, from 6-8 p.m. at the MCC Theater.
“Our responsibility is to each other, and through the power of love and critical transformation, we can meet this moment to demand so much more for our communities. Join in a conversation on the state of feminism, the promise and peril of this moment, and where we go from here,” the Shoreline description read.
The event will feature Middle Eastern American feminist community organizer and writer Sophia Armen as a guest speaker.
RCSGD hosts Sapphic Scrapbooking
RCSGD is hosting Sapphic Scrapbooking on Friday, Nov. 15, from 12:30-2 p.m. at the SRB Mountainside Terrace.
“Every week, we’ll focus on a different theme to spark your crafty creativity and provide community care,” the Shoreline description read. “This space is open to folks who identify as lesbians, bi, pan, or are just [women loving women]!”
This week’s theme is “taking breaks.” Materials will be provided and students may also bring scraps from home.
Non-Traditional Student Resource Center holds Paint Party
The Non-Traditional Student Resource Center is holding a Paint Party on Friday, Nov. 15, from 1-3 p.m. at the SRB room 1109.
“The NTSRC is excited to offer a fall-themed arts & crafts activity with a fun tutorial and snacks available. Come meet other non-traditional students!” the Shoreline decision read.
Snacks and materials will be provided and the first 10 attendees will receive free canvases.
Indus hosts Diwali celebration
Indus is hosting its annual Diwali celebration on Friday, Nov. 15, from 7:30-11:30 p.m. at Corwin Pavilion.

“Film screening and discussion of The Feminist on Cellblock Y, a film that follows a group of men in incarceration who learn about and discuss toxic masculinity and the patriarchy guided by theorists like Bell Hooks,” the Shoreline description read.

RCSGD hosts Trans Day of Remembrance Vigil
RCSGD is hosting a Trans Day of Remembrance Vigil on Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 6-8 p.m. at the MCC.
“Join us as we gather to honor and remember the lives lost to anti-trans violence and discrimination on this Transgender Day of Remembrance. We will be creating a community altar in memory of our lost community members,” the Shoreline description read.
Students are encouraged to bring photos and items in memory of lost community members for the altar.
UCSB Arts & Lectures holds Dr. Uché Blackstock talk
UCSB Arts & Lectures is holding a talk with Dr. Uché Blackstock on Wednesday, Nov. 20, at 7:30 p.m. at Campbell Hall.
“As an ER physician and one of the country’s leading health equity advocates, Dr. Uché Blackstock has a deep and hands-on understanding of how systemic racism is affecting the health of BIPOC communities across the country,” the event description read.
This event is free for students, and tickets may be purchased through UCSB Arts & Lectures. Limited free copies of Blackstock’s new book, “Legacy: A Black Physician Reckons with Racism in Medicine,” will be available.
