Health & Wellness hosts Open Awareness Meditation
Health & Wellness is hosting an Open Awareness Meditation session on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 12-12:45 p.m. at the Health & Wellness and Women’s Center Community Room 1238 in the Student Resource Building (SRB).
“Practicing meditation can help manage stress, as well as improve memory and focus. Join us each week for a guided meditation with a certified facilitator,” the Shoreline description read.
The event is open to everyone.
RCSGD hosts LGBTQIA+ Sip & Paint Mocktail Hour
The Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity (RCSGD) is holding an LGBTQIA+ Sip & Paint Mocktail Hour on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 5-7 p.m. at the SRB Multipurpose Room (MPR).
“Join us at the SRB MPR for an evening of painting and sipping on freshly made mocktails! We’re kicking off the academic year with a space to mingle with new folks or catch up with old friends,” the Shoreline description read.

RCSGD holds Trans and GNC Talks
RCSGD is holding Trans and Gender Non-Conforming (GNC) Talks on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Office of International Students & Scholars (OISS) Conference Room.
This event is an opportunity for “trans, nonbinary, gender-non-conforming, and questioning people” to discuss their experiences and meet others in the trans and nonbinary community, according to the Shoreline description.

RCSGD holds Fall 2024 Welcome bingo
RCSGD is holding a Fall 2024 Welcome bingo event on Friday, Oct. 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the SRB MPR.
“Join us in welcoming our LGBTQIA+ Community back to campus with a few rounds of Meet-Cute Bingo! Collect info from new friends you meet at our event to have the chance to receive giveaways,” the Shoreline description read.

RCSGD hosts Sapphic Scrapbooking
RCSGD is hosting a Sapphic Scrapbooking welcome event on Friday, Oct. 11, from 12:30-2 p.m. at the SRB Mountainside Terrace.
“Are you looking for a sapphic community space? Do you have a habit of collecting ticket stubs, polaroids, or stickers?” the Shoeline description read. “This space is open to folks who identify as lesbians, bi, pan, or are just wlw!”
Supplies will be provided. Students are also encouraged to bring their own materials.
Self-Improvement Club holds Sunset Run
Self-Improvement Club is holding a Sunset Run on Friday, Oct. 11, from 6-7 p.m. from the Recreation Center to Coal Oil Point and back.
“Experience a Gorgeous 3-5-Mile Run To Coal Oil Point and Back As We Watch the Sun Set Over the Pacific Ocean,” the Shoreline description read.
Improvability hosts “The Last Debate Show”
Improvability is hosting “The Last Debate” improv show on Friday, Oct. 11, from 8-9:30 p.m. at Embarcadero Hall.
“What Improvability performs on stage has never been performed before and is powered by audience decisions,” the Shoreline description read.
The show is open to everyone and tickets are $3 at the door.
ECP holds Saturday Morning Live Volunteering
Edible Campus Program (ECP) is holding a Saturday Morning Live Volunteering event on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Associated Students (A.S.) Department of Public Worms Student Farm.
The event is hosted weekly on Saturdays, students are encouraged to bring water and wear closed-toed shoes. Those interested may RSVP through the form on Shoreline.
Health & Wellness hosts “The Happiness Challenge Team”
Health & Wellness is hosting “The Happiness Challenge Team” on Monday, Oct. 14, from 12-1 p.m.
“Creating lasting happiness requires intentional actions. The Happiness Challenge Team is a support group that works together and practices two positive psychology interventions each week. Our goals are to improve personal relationships, increase the meaning in our lives, and build community,” the Shoreline description read.

ECP holds Balcony Gardening Workshop
ECP is holding a Balcony Gardening Workshop on Monday, Oct. 14, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at the Methodist Community Garden.
“Whether you’re new to gardening or an experienced gardener, this workshop will certainly guide you to establish a green beautiful lush garden right on your balcony. Explore various types of balcony gardening, from container gardening to vertical setups, and discover which methods suit your space the best,” the Shoreline description read.

EOP hosts MENASARC open house
Equal Opportunity Program (EOP) is hosting a Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian Resource Center (MENASARC) open house on Monday, Oct. 14, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the SRB room 1106.
The event will include an overview of the resource center, services and team. Desserts, games and prizes will be provided.

EOP is hosting an Asian Resource Center open house on Monday, Oct. 14, from 4-6 p.m. at the Asian Resource Center on the first floor of the SRB.

Health & Wellness is hosting a Rejuvenation Station on Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 3-5 p.m. at the SRB Health & Wellness and Women’s Center room 1220.
“The Rejuvenation Station is a drop-in space where students can unwind and immerse in self-care,” the Shoreline description read.

EOP holds CLCRC open house
EOP is holding a Chicanx/Latinx Cultural Resource Center (CLCRC) open house on Tuesday, Oct. 15, from 3-5 p.m. on the first floor of the SRB.
“Our objective is to educate and unify the UCSB and Chicanx/Latinx community through the mediums of art, language, people, food, and traditions,” the Shoreline description read.

Women’s Center holds Feminist Book Club
The Women’s Center is holding a Feminist Book Club on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 1-2 p.m. at the Women’s Center Community Room. The club will be discussing “You Exist Too Much” by Zaina Arafat.
“Come meet new people and discuss a new book with the Women’s Center! Whether you are an avid reader or want to start reading for leisure, you are welcomed!” the Shoreline description read.
The first 10 participants will receive a free copy of the book.
