S.E.A.L. holds First-Generation EOP Graduation Celebration
UCSB Opening New Doors to Accelerating Success Student Center, Transfer Student Center, Student Engagement and Leadership (S.E.A.L.) Office, Career Services and Successful Student Transitions are holding a First-Generation and Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) Graduation Celebration on Thursday, May 30, from 4-6 p.m. at Corwin Pavilion.
“This event is meant to celebrate the accomplishment of graduating as first-generation college students,” the Shoreline description read.
The event will feature speeches from students and staff, a banquet dinner and a slideshow showcasing graduating students.
EVPLA hosts “School’s Out – Spring Festival”
The Associated Students (A.S.) External Vice President for Local Affairs (EVPLA) Office is hosting a “School’s Out – Spring Festival” on Thursday, May 30, from 5-7:30 p.m. at Little Acorn Park.
“Support our local vendors, enjoy the popular sounds of Isla Vista, and savor delicious food from some of our favorite spots,” the Instagram description read.
The event will feature live music performed by local bands Eternal Wave and Ray & Paul Holmberg, clothing and jewelry vendors and food from Elubia’s Kitchen and Fernando Churros.
Indus, PSA host Mehndi Night
UCSB Indus and the Pakistani Student Association (PSA) are hosting a Mehndi Night on Thursday, May 30, from 7-9 p.m. at the GSA Lounge.
The event is in preparation for the Indus Mock Shaadi banquet and culture show on Saturday, June 1.
Attendees are encouraged to wear cultural attire, according to the Instagram flyer. Mehndi cones and snacks will be provided.
RCSGD holds AANHPI Paper Craft Party
The Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity (RCSGD) is holding a Paper Craft Party in honor of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month on Friday, May 31, from 12-1 p.m. at the Student Resource Building (SRB) mountainside terrace.
“While we have drawn inspiration from East Asian culture for this event’s activities, this event is open to anyone looking to make a fun craft and celebrate all AANHPI heritage!” the Shoreline description read.
Art supplies and snacks will be provided.
A.S. Human Rights Board hosts Block Party for Liberation
The A.S. Human Rights Board and the Graduate Student Association are hosting a Block Party for Liberation on Friday, May 31, from 12-6:30 p.m. at the Annex and Storke Lawn.
“HRB is honored to have been invited by the Graduate Student Association to join in celebrating the year of successful advocacy and activism we have had at UCSB,” the Shoreline description read.
The event will feature catering from Super Cucas, music, crafts, workshops and teach-ins.
RCSGD holds “Sapphic Scrapbooking: End of Quarter Reflection!”
RCSGD is holding a “Sapphic Scrapbooking: End of Quarter Reflection!” event on Friday, May 31, from 1-2:30 p.m. at the SRB mountainside terrace.
“We’ll focus on a different theme to spark your crafty creativity and provide community care. Bring your scraps from home or come ready to create your own masterpiece with the RCSGD’s supplies!” the Shoreline description read.
This event is open to all and craft supplies will be provided.
A.S. Trans & Queer Commission hosts Queer Fest
The A.S. Trans & Queer Commission in collaboration with I.V. Recreation and Park District is hosting “Queer Fest: Isla Vista’s 2nd Annual Pride Festival” on Saturday, June 1, from 3-6 p.m. at Little Acorn Park.
Performers include Ex-Girlfriends Anonymous, Navya Gupta, Skinny Dip and Lemon Generation. Other features include free food, a photo booth, animal adoption, a dunk tank and small business vendors.
MSA holds end of the year banquet
The Muslim Students Association (MSA) is holding an end-of-the-year banquet on Saturday, June 1, at 4:30 p.m. at the Leta Santa Barbara Goleta by Hilton.
The event will feature awards and speeches from the board.
The theme is Arabian Nights and the dress code is formal. Dinner will be provided. Prospective attendees should RSVP through the MSA Instagram.
COSWB holds mental health awareness I.V. band concert
The A.S. Commission on Student Well-Being (COSWB) is holding a mental health awareness I.V. band concert on Saturday, June 1, from 4-6 p.m. at Anisq’Oyo Park.
The concert will feature local bands Birchwood and Fig Jam.
The event is open to all and free snacks and drinks will be provided.
Indus hosts Mock Shaadi
UCSB Indus is hosting a Mock Shaadi banquet and culture show on Saturday, June 1, from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. at Robertson Gymnasium.
“Shaadi means wedding in Hindi, and a Mock Shaadi is exactly that! It features all the aspects of a traditional South Asian wedding and is sure to be a night filled with a lot of joy and fun!” the Instagram description read.
Guests are encouraged to wear cultural attire. Catering from Masala Spice will be provided.
BWHC hosts Generational Brunch
The A.S. Black Women’s Health Collaborative (BWHC) is hosting a Generational Brunch on Sunday, June 2, from 12-2 p.m. at the Mosher Hall Walen Plaza.
“A brunch celebrating the strength and unity of black women across generations, coming together as a community to uplift and empower one another,” the Instagram post read.

MENASARC holds Study Jam and Tea
The Middle Eastern, North African, South Asian Resource Center (MENASARC) is holding a Study Jam and Tea event on Monday, June 3, from 5-7 p.m. at the SRB room 1106.
Students may come to study together with snacks and refreshments provided.
