Since school is out and most of us are just working, we have a lot of free time to do whatever we want. Yes, it is summertime. Summertime brings to mind a flurry of fruity, frozen alcoholic drinks for those of us who are over 21. The only setback? Drinks are expensive and are typically not as alcoholic as we would like them to be when we order them at bars. To help all of us with our not-so-sober summertime struggle, here is a cost-effective drink that will get you through.

“If You Like” Horchata Colada (yields one drink)
1 1/2 cups ice
1/2 cup frozen pineapple juice
1/4 cup dark rum
1/2 cup white rum
1 cup horchata
Directions
Combine all of the ingredients in your blender. Pour into a glass of your choosing and top with a dash of nutmeg. Enjoy!
For those of us who like the idea of making things from scratch, are under 21 or have an almost unhealthy obsession with horchata, here is a recipe to make at home:

Horchata
1/2 cup uncooked rice
2 1/2 cups water
1/4 cup milk
1/4 tsp milk

1/4 tbsp cinnamon
1/3 cup white sugar
Place the uncooked rice and water into a blender and blend. Once the rice and water seem to be combined after a few minutes, let the new combination stand at room temperature for about three hours. Then strain the rice water into a pitcher. Stir the rest of the ingredients into your mixture. Pour over ice and enjoy!
