Britney Spears is going to hell. But she didn't get her reservations in Perdition for D-grade musical stylings, her vapid personality or her contamination of American young women with her whorish fashion sense.

The Shins | Chutes Too Narrow | Sub Pop

By Brenna Boyce

From what I understand, Albuquerque, N.M. is not famous for churning out fabulous indie rock acts. In fact, of my New Mexican acquaintances, metal seems to be the genre of choice for braving the dusty streets.

With Dear Catastrophe Waitress, Scottish indie pop legends Belle & Sebastian add whimsical '60s sunshine pop to the contemplative and melancholy songwriting that made their 1995 debut Tigermilk an indie rock essential.

The Distillers | Coral Fang | Sire

By Travis Hunter

Coral Fang is mostly a mat for Brody Dalle's vocal gymnastics as she tries to sell each song with the strength and versatility of her pipes. Unfortunately, Brody's vocal strength is matched by her mediocrity as a songwri...
