A female student reported being sexually battered on Saturday, April 6 while running through West Campus.

The victim told police she was running between the stables and Devereaux at about 3:45 p.m. when a man walked out from bushes on the side of the roadway and blocked her path. According to UC Police Dept. Captain Bill Bean, the suspect then reached out and grabbed her breast with one hand, while exposing his penis with the other.

“The woman was able to push the attacker away and run from the area,” Bean said.

The suspect was described as a white male, about 19 to 21 years old, around 5′ 9″ and 150 pounds. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a light colored T-shirt and green “basketball-style” mesh shorts. He was last seen walking toward Isla Vista.

Anyone with information regarding the incident can contact the UCPD at 893-3446.
