A suspect robbed and attempted to sexually assault an individual during the evening of Dec. 6, according to several Emergency Notifications sent by UC Santa Barbara. The suspect is still at large at the time of publishing. 

According to the first alert sent at 7:03 p.m., the incident occurred south of West Campus Point Lane near the West Campus Stables. The time of the incident is still being investigated, according to the University of California Police Department (UCPD). At the time of the warning, community members were instructed to avoid the area. 

The most updated description of the suspect states he is a Hispanic adult male between 20-25 years old with short hair. He wore dark clothing and a white bandana over his face at the time of the incident. 

Per the second alert sent at 7:52 p.m., the suspect hit the victim in the head with a metal water bottle and ran away toward Isla Vista. 

A total of five notifications were sent throughout the evening. The UCPD continued to patrol the area and lifted its request to avoid the area at 10:41 p.m. They are actively investigating the incident, according to the final notification.
