The Santa Barbara County Department of Social Services announced that CalFresh benefits for November have been processed, and that beneficiaries will see their full benefits available on Nov. 7. Additionally, households will receive their full benefits between Nov. 8-10, depending on their usual benefit release day.

UC Santa Barbara’s Director of Student Sustainability Initiatives, Katie Maynard, received this update earlier today after being in close contact with the Santa Barbara County Department of Social Services.

This update comes after benefits for November had been delayed due to the federal government shutdown. Two federal judges have ruled in separate cases on Oct. 31 and Nov. 6 that the Trump administration must pay for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (S.N.A.P.) benefits during the shutdown.
