Friday, Feb. 17: Cartoon masterminds Mike Judge and Don Hertzfeldt take their short works to the big screen tonight in I.V. Theater. The duo’s “Animation Show” will play at both 7 and 9:30 p.m. Hertzfeldt is scheduled to attend both screenings and participate in a Q&A session directly after the 7 p.m. show. Tickets are $4.
Saturday, Feb. 18: Looking to prove that cool stuff can come out of Chico, the Americas take their quirky rock act to the stage tonight at the Barn Showspace. With supporting act Cair Paravel along for the ride, this is a local show that is not to be missed. The party starts at 8 p.m. sharp.
Sunday, Feb. 19: Just in case you haven’t gotten your film fest fill, the SBIFF presents an unprecedented third weekend of movie mayhem. Tonight, best documentary winner “King Leopold’s Ghost” will show at 7 p.m. at the Marjorie Luke Theatre. Tickets are $10 at the door and will not be sold in advance.
Monday, Feb. 20: Thrashers and metal-heads delight! Tonight, the historic Roxy Theatre in Hollywood plays host to the raucous sounds of CKY (Camp Kill Yourself), Fireball Ministry and the Knives. Tickets are $16 and can be purchased at www.ticketmaster.com. Doors open at 8 p.m.
Tuesday, Feb. 21: The Academy Award nominated biopic, “Walk the Line,” will screen tonight in I.V. Theater. Featuring standout performances by Joaquin Phoenix and the dazzling Reese Witherspoon, the film promises to please even the least likely country fans. “Walk the Line” will show at 7:30 and 10 p.m. Tickets are $3.
Wednesday, Feb. 22: The British collaborative dance team of Stan Won’t Dance takes its high-energy performance across the pond tonight. The collective duo of Liam Steele and Ben Wright present the U.S. premiere of their controversial program, “Sinner” at 8 p.m. in Campbell Hall. Tickets are a discounted $19 for students.
