Latinos for Politics host Café con Pan fundraiser 

Latinos for Politics is hosting a Café con Pan fundraiser on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Student Resource Building (SRB) lawn. 

The fundraiser will feature coffee and Mexican sweet bread. 

Latinx Business Association hosts vendor pop-up 

Latinx Business Association is hosting a vendor pop-up on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lot 22 lawn. 

Vendors will be selling clothing and jewelry, among other items. 

Transfer Student Center, Basic Needs present CalFresh enrollment party

The Transfer Student Center and Basic Needs office is holding a CalFresh enrollment party on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 12-2 p.m. at the Transfer Student Center. 

Attendees can learn about securing benefits for CalFresh and enjoy complimentary donuts and coffee.

Associated Students (A.S.) Trans & Queer Commission is hosting a “Bi Us For Us” puzzles and pastries night on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 6:30-8 p.m. at the Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity (RCSGD) lounge.

Taiwanese American Student Association hosts “Mahjong and Mocktails Night”

Taiwanese American Student Association (TASA) is hosting “Mahjong and Mocktails Night” on Thursday, Feb. 8, from 8-11 p.m. at Girvetz 1115. 

All skill levels are welcome and mocktails will be provided.

RCSGD presents “Witchy Gays”

RCSGD is hosting a social titled, “Witchy Gays: Finding QT Joy through Spiritual Self-Discovery” on Friday, Feb. 9, from 12-1:30 p.m. at the MultiCultural Center (MCC) Lounge. 

“Using meditation, tarot cards, and even your own birth charts, we plan on discovering queer and trans joy, healing, and community outside of the tangible,” the Shoreline description read.

UCSB Edible Campus Program hosts workshop on hummingbird feeders 

UCSB Edible Campus Program (ECP) is hosting a workshop to make hummingbird feeders from recycled materials on Friday, Feb. 9, from 2:30-3:30 p.m. at the Methodist Community Garden. 

ECP encourages attendees to bring recycled materials, but some will be provided.

Health & Wellness presents “Lunar New Year Lucky Noodles” 

Health & Wellness is hosting a noodle-making workshop in celebration of Lunar New Year on Friday, Feb. 9, from 3-5 p.m. at the SRB Multipurpose Room. 

The event is co-sponsored by the Asian Resource Center and Educational Opportunity Program.

NSU, TASA host Lunar New Year arts and crafts night 

Nikkei Student Union (NSU) and TASA are collaboratively hosting a Lunar New Year arts and crafts night on Friday, Feb. 9, from 5-7 p.m. at Girvetz 1004.

RCSGD hosts anti-Valentine’s movie night for graduate students 

RCSGD is hosting an anti-Valentine’s movie night for LGBTQIA+ graduate students on Friday, Feb. 9, from 5-8 p.m. at the San Clemente Center. 

Pizza and refreshments will be served starting at 5 p.m., and a movie screening will start at 6 p.m.

MCC presents “The Feminist on Cellblock Y” screening, panel 

MCC is hosting a movie screening of “The Feminist on Cell Block Y” with a post-film panel discussion on Friday, Feb. 9, from 6-8:30 p.m. at the MCC Theater.

Gauchos Go Green is hosting a sustainable Valentine’s Makers Market on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sea Lookout Park.

A.S. Environmental Affairs Board (EAB) is hosting a trip to the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 1-3 p.m.

EAB will provide transportation and entry into the garden. Attendees are encouraged to bring water and snacks.

The Legal Education Association for Diversity is hosting a winter law panel on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 3-5 p.m. at the Isla Vista Community Center.

The Department of Recreation is hosting a BIPOC climbing night on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Recreation Center Climbing Wall. 

All levels are invited and no climbing experience is required.

The event will feature games and raffles, among other things.

MCC hosts discussion on fatphobia 

The MCC is hosting a discussion titled, “Embracing Every Body: Confronting Fatphobia,” on Tuesday, Feb. 13, from 6-7:45 p.m. at the MCC Theater. 

The discussion will be facilitated by fifth-year Chicana and Chicano studies and History of Public Policy and Law double major Sarahi Perez Aguilar and feature feminist studies assistant professor Caleb Luna. 

RCSGD presents: ‘No Romo Valentine’s Day’ 

RCSGD is hosting “No Romo Valentine’s Day” for asexual students on Wednesday, Feb. 14, from 1-3 p.m. at the RCSGD Lounge. 

“Valentine’s Day can often be very alienating for members of the aro-ace community, so we’re flipping it on its head this year with No Romo Valentine’s Day,” the Shoreline description read.
