The UC Santa Barbara Police Department has arrested Peyton Joseph McDonald in connection with a sexual assault that occurred on campus property on Aug. 27. The suspect was arrested on Sept. 9 at Santa Barbara City College (SBCC).
The felony charges against McDonald are rape by force, false imprisonment, assault with force and oral copulation.
According to Martha Swanson, SBCC executive director, public affairs and communication, McDonald is a student at SBCC.
This investigation is ongoing, and this article will be updated as more information becomes available.
