Earlier this month, the Big West Conference announced that fall sports will be postponed through the end of the calendar year. Currently, this postponement affects men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer and women’s volleyball.

Health and safety of Big West student-athletes, coaches, staff and the campus community continue to be the preeminent priorities for the CEO’s of the conference’s 11 institutions,” the conference wrote in a statement. “As medical and scientific data rapidly evolves surrounding the pandemic, the conference will continue to monitor developments and will consider additional actions as needed.”

In the statement, the Big West Conference noted that a decision of whether these sports will be played in the spring will occur at a later date. In addition, for the time being, men’s and women’s basketball are still scheduled to begin on November 10.
