A “pattern of burglaries” occurred in Manzanita Village Residence Hall over winter break, according to an alert sent out by the UC Police Department on Monday morning.

The burglaries happened between the mornings of Jan. 3 and Jan. 4; in two rooms, the bedroom windows had been “pried open” and the rooms left “in disarray,” the alert said.

Pry marks were also found on the windows of two other rooms, but it “did not appear that entry had been made into those rooms,” according to the alert.

All residence halls re-opened for Winter Quarter 2020 at 10 a.m. on Sunday. Residence halls typically remain closed over winter break.

Any information about these burglaries can be reported to the UC Police Department at 805-893-3446 or anonymously here.
