Sing Your Heart Out at Open Mic Night
KCSB, in collaboration with the Isla Vista Food Co-op, will be holding an Open Mic Night on Saturday at the Co-op, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Grab some friends and sing your hearts out at the at 6575 Seville Road! Any kind of performance is welcome — music, stand-up or literally anything else — so go have fun. Snacks and drinks will be provided by the Co-op, but there is no alcohol and smoking allowed. People can sign up to perform by emailing promotion@kcsb.org. There are a number of spots reserved for same-day signups.
I.V.’s own Coffee Collaborative, in cahoots with Uncommon Thrifts, will be holding its latest Pop-Up Thrift Shop at the coffee shop on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come join your fellow coffee addicts and get some new clothes, while also listening to some fun tunes! The coffee shop is located at 6560 Pardall Road.
UCSB’s Magic Lantern Theater will be showing the movie “Instant Family” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at I.V. Theater, located at 960 Embarcadero del Norte. The movie, starring Mark Wahlberg, Rose Byrne, Isabela Moner and Octavia Spencer, features a couple who takes three young children into their home after enrolling in a foster parents course. The movie earned 7.5/10 on IMDb and 81 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. Grab your friends and go have a fun Tuesday night.
