A 23-year-old former Santa Barbara City College student was arrested on Sunday in Isla Vista by Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputies on a first-degree attempt to commit burglary.
Tyler Dornan was also charged with committing a felony offense while out on bail.
Dornan was arrested on the 6600 block of Trigo Rd. after neighbors observed him removing a screen from a window, according to I.V. Foot Patrol Sergeant Daniel Calderon.
He was also seen “manipulating door handles of parked cars in the area,” Calderon said.
Dornan’s statement as well as witness testimony indicate that he was attempting burglary, Calderon said.
He was booked in the Santa Barbara Southern Branch Jail on a $75,000 bail.
He has since been released, according to the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office (SBSO) website.
Dornan was last enrolled at Santa Barbara City College (SBCC) in 2015, according to SBCC representative Amanda Jacobs.

Free my guy!
When are people finally going to realize that SBCC is ruining Santa Barbara and Isla Vista. The 100% acceptance rate brings in so many low lifes and criminals that would otherwise have no reason to be here. People need to wake up and understand that SBCC is a huge detriment to the community, in so many ways.
