As college students, we are not unfamiliar with the term “ramen.” Usually following the words “Top” or “Maruchan” and the good ol’ “Cup Noodles” variations, of course. However, we do lack knowledge in the finesse of such a well-known noodle dish. To better educate yourself on all there is to know about ramen, purchase yourself a ticket to Outpost’s second annual RamenFest this Nov. 5 from 12-4 p.m. Here you will find top chefs from esteemed restaurants competing for the title of “ramen king.” It’s a noodle showdown like you’ve never seen before!

Returning for a chance to triumph this year are teams from Outpost, Finch & Fork, The Hungry Cat, The Black Sheep and Wildwood Kitchen, and joining for their debut are teams from Zimzala, Corazon Kitchen and Empty Bowl. The competitors will showcase a variety of original and unique takes on the dish in hopes to earn your vote.

Sake cocktails and Sumo wrestling will also be in plenty. The event takes place at 5650 Calle Real. Tickets can be purchased from nightout.com for $30 general admission or $60 for VIP entrance, which includes a limited edition ramen tasting bowl. Proceeds are donated to No Kid Hungry, which assists children by providing them with afterschool meals nationwide. So what are you waiting for? Good eats and a good cause at the Goodland are waiting for you at the 2016 RamenFest!
