Associate professor of feminist studies Mireille Miller-Young pleaded not guilty to three misdemeanor charges last Friday. She was charged with theft from a person, battery and vandalism, according to the Office of the District Attorney for Santa Barbara County.

Miller-Young allegedly took a sign from a member of Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust, an organization protesting in the Arbor in front of the Davidson Library on March 4, before battering another protestor and ultimately destroying the sign. She did not appear in court for her arraignment but will do so on May 1 for a readiness-and-settlement hearing.
