Dr. Sanjay Gupta — best-selling author, assistant neurosurgery professor at Emory University and CNN’s Emmy-decorated chief medical correspondent — visited Campbell Hall yesterday to discuss his experience with the murky intersection of media and medicine.

After serving as a White House Fellow from 1997 to 1998, Gupta went on to pursue medical journalism, reporting on the anthrax outbreak following the 9/11 attacks and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Gupta works as a general neurosurgeon at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta and also pens a regular column for Time magazine.

Following his lecture, Gupta signed copies of his three novels — Chasing Life, Cheating Death and Monday Mornings — all of which are New York Times national bestsellers.
