The UCSB Department of Art is bursting with excitement to announce its annual Undergraduate Exhibition for the 2012 school year. It’s Not as Far/Funny as You Think presents over 50 paintings, drawings, sculptures, videos, installations and other multimedia works, individually curated by department faculty from this year’s breadth of student work. The Undergraduate Exhibition highlights the best work from throughout the year, representing the talent, skill, hard work and dedication of our students. This year, artwork will be displayed at various venues, including Building 479 Old Gym Gallery, Arts 434 rooms 121 and 122 and the newly redesigned Atrium sculpture facilities (Arts 600 behind the Art, Architecture, and Design Museum).

The show opens on Monday, June 11 and the closing reception will be held on Saturday, June 16 from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Arts 434 Courtyard, following the commencement ceremony for this year’s graduating BA and MFA students. Join us on Saturday for a celebration with music and food, and throughout the week in celebration of not just our graduating students but another year of excellent work.
