On Oct. 13, UCSB will be hosting the first annual Sustainability Summit at the Loma Pelona Center, bringing together UCSB representatives and community businesses to discuss environmental issues regarding energy, transportation, waste and water management.
The conference will be co-sponsored by South Coast Energy Efficiency Partnership and MarBorg Industries.
The summit will feature discussions to improve energy efficiency and promote environmental conservation in the Santa Barbara county area.
Ron Cortez, co-chairman of the Chancellor’s Sustainability Committee, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming summit in a recent press release.
“This is so exciting to see UCSB and cities working together to share ideas, best practices and proven approaches for improving the environment” Cortez said.
