The UCen dining facilities will undergo major renovations this summer to replace several familiar establishments with new vendors.
Wendy’s, Chilitos and Gaucho Deli will vacate their spaces for other eateries. A new concept restaurant featuring locally grown food will replace Wendy’s and another Mexican food establishment is expected to open late October in place of Chilitos.
The former Gaucho Deli is rumored to reopen as a Subway by Fall Quarter 2011. This venue will be the chain’s second on campus location and third in the UCSB community.
