Local government councils will consider a scope of issues today during their weekly meetings. No meetings were held last week.

Goleta City Council

The council will decide whether to approve the Cold Spring Bridge Suicide Barrier project.

The council will review a presentation on the status of SB 375 and related climate change legislation.

The council will hold a moment of silence in remembrance of the victims of the Goleta Postal Office shooting, which occurred on Jan. 30, 2006.

Santa Barbara City Council

The council will accept a grant of $50,196 from the Orfalea Family Foundation to produce a countywide disaster preparedness radio and television public service announcement campaign.

The council will convene in a closed session to discuss dispensary operations within the city.

Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors

The board will decide whether to extend a contract with local vendor Charles Golodner Counseling Group by six months and increase pay by $65,000 to accommodate more services from the County Alcohol and Drug Program.

The board will accept a grant from the California Dept. of Parks and Recreation including funds for two cabin-style trailers at Jalama Beach Park and four new yurts at Cachuma Lake Park.

The board will decide whether to fund several projects in connection with the Isla Vista Sidewalk Improvement plan such as the purchase of a sidewalk adjacent to 6570 Cordoba Road by the house’s owners, as well as the construction of a sidewalk on the property of 6521 Sabado Tarde Road.

The board will file the 2010-11 Financial Status Report, showing the status of appropriations and financing for all departmental budgets adopted by the Board of Supervisors. The supervisors will also discuss impacts of Governor Brown’s proposed 2011-12 budget on county departments.
