The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Dept. is currently investigating two separate armed bank robberies that took place within minutes of each other last Friday in Goleta.

The first robbery occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. at the Los Padres Bank on the 100 block of North Fairview Road, while the second robbery took place at the Santa Barbara Bank & Trust in the Camino Real Shopping Center at 6 p.m., the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Dept. said. It remains unknown whether the two incidences are related, but the sheriff’s department has confirmed that there were no injuries reported.

Both robberies were carried out at gunpoint, officials said.

The suspect from the first robbery is described as a white or Hispanic male, approximately 5’8″ and 180 pounds, with salt and pepper hair. His identity, however, was mostly obscured by his all black outfit, ski mask and gloves. The sheriff’s department did not specify whether the suspect had successfully stolen any money.

The suspect from the latter heist was described at a white man in his 50s. He, too, robbed the bank teller at gunpoint and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The investigation into the two robberies is ongoing.
