Students seeking on-campus parking over Halloween weekend will now need to purchase permits as the deadline for free passes has ended.

Although Oct. 19 was the last chance for student residents of Isla Vista to receive a Halloween parking permit free of charge, students can still order a pass from Transportation & Parking Services for a $15 processing fee.

Authorized vehicles may then be parked in specially designated parking areas throughout the duration of the weekend. Halloween permits will be valid from 3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31 until 7:30 a.m. on Nov. 3. Students are advised classes are still in session until 5 p.m. Friday, and parking may be limited until the end of the workweek.

Night and weekend permits, as well as off-campus housing permits, will not be honored Halloween weekend. Improperly parked vehicles are subject to a $150 fine and impound at the owner’s expense.

Halloween permits can be purchased at www.tps.ucsb.edu and can be picked up in person with a valid student ID from either the Parking Services Office or at the TPS customer service tent at the UCen from Tuesday Oct. 28 until Friday Oct. 31, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

TPS has allocated four specific parking complexes where Halloween permits are valid – Parking 22, Mesa 18 Parking, 16 Parking and the South End of 30 Parking.
