2. Gerry Lopez is a surfing legend whose role in “Big Wednesday” was almost as epic as his boarding skills. Check him out in Campbell Hall at 8 p.m. on May 6, as he gives a presentation based on his new book, Surf Is Where You Find It.

3. Amp up your afternoon with a free performance by UCSB’s own Mariachi Integral. In honor of Cinco de Mayo, the group will perform traditional Mexican music from 12 to 2 p.m. on May 7 in the UCSB Music Bowl.

4. Congrats to comedians Amy Poehler and Will Arnett, who announced this week that they are expecting their first child – reportedly due next fall. The couple has been married since 2003.

5. Whatcha talkin’ ’bout, Willis? Child star Gary Coleman and his wife have only been married for seven months, but the pair has already announced that they recently taped an episode of “Divorce Court” to try to save their fledgling union.

6. You know you’ve been waiting for this one. Grab your suit, gather your friends and get in line, because “Iron Man” opens in theaters May 2. Robert Downey, Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Terrence Howard, Shaun Toub and Jeff Bridges star in this superhero film from director Jon Favreau.
