Two people were attacked in Isla Vista on Friday night in unrelated incidents that landed two suspects in jail for robbery and sent one victim to the hospital with a stab wound.

Several unidentified suspects stabbed a juvenile on the 6600 block of Picasso Road near Children’s Park at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. That same night, another victim was assaulted and robbed at an unknown time on the 800 block of Embarcadero del Norte. Two suspects were booked into Santa Barbara County Jail in connection with the robbery, Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Dept. spokesman Erik Raney said, and officers still do not have any suspects in the stabbing.

Isla Vista Foot Patrol Deputy Mark Ward said the IVFP was alerted to the stabbing by a representative from Goleta Valley Cottage Hospital. Raney said the IVFP is still investigating the incident and does not have information about the victim or the victim’s condition as of yet.

“We don’t really have any specific details right now,” Raney said.

IVFP Deputy Marty Rose said officers did locate and arrest two people who are suspected of participating in the robbery. Rose said the suspects allegedly knocked the robbery victim unconscious by punching him repeatedly. He said the suspects then allegedly stole the victim’s wallet and watch before fleeing the scene.

Rose said he apprehended one of the suspects as he fled the scene, and law enforcement officers caught the other suspect later when he attempted to break into a residence. Both men were arrested for robbery and transported to the Santa Barbara County Jail.

Raney said investigations of both incidents are ongoing.
