It’s time for the UCSB softball team to face the Aggies again.

After defeating the Utah State Aggies 9-4 and 11-3 last weekend, Santa Barbara will face the UC Davis Aggies in three games at Campus Diamond this weekend.

Davis (1-8, 6-31) is coming off an eight-game losing streak and a sweep by Cal Poly.

UCSB (19-14 overall, 5-4 in the Big West) took Utah State to the eight-run mercy rule Sunday after scoring 11 runs. Sophomore pitcher Jennifer Davis pitched her 17th complete game and 11th win of the season, bringing her to an 11-7 record.

Jennifer Davis is scheduled to pitch the first game of the doubleheader against the Aggies on Saturday, and sophomore pitcher Lindsey Sommer will likely throw the second game. To complete the series, Davis will get the starting nod for Sunday’s game. With the return of sophomore pitcher Carly Harmon, UCSB has a full deck of pitchers to choose from in relief for this weekend.

“If we can play like last weekend, we’re going to be fine — we just have to come out to play every pitch,” Head Coach Kristy Schroeder said. “I think we can beat anyone in conference, but last weekend showed we can’t take people for granted. If we take this season one game at a time, hopefully we’ll do well.”
