Editor, Daily Nexus,

Everyone needs to come out and support the Direct Action Tsunami Relief Fund, and I.V. Surfrider Foundation at tonight’s screening of the surf film “Vinyl.” The movie features awesome footage of UCSB’s best surfers on the best days last year; so be there tonight at in I.V. Theater. The movie is free, but we will have a donation box for everyone to give to the tsunami victims and a sick raffle with tons of great prizes. So even if you have already seen “Vinyl,” come out and donate some money to the tsunami victims and enter for a chance to win a new surfboard. Directly following the film, we will all be heading over to Giovanni’s to see the Jason Campbell Band and enjoy $3 monster cups with one dollar from each purchase going toward the tsunami victims. It should be an awesome night all around, so we hope everyone will make it out.

This is just the beginning for I.V. Surfrider’s involvement in the community. This winter, we want to get the word out that everyone should look forward to a tremendous quarter. We have tons of great events planned that, if our co-chair Mathis ever shows up, should be really fun. We will be having a massive beach cleanup/beach party when the weather starts to warm up, a surf contest open to everyone in February, and, as always, our meetings rock. If anyone is interested in joining a great club that does great things, come to our meetings on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in the MultiCultural Center. Like I said, they rock. Come check us out tonight at 8 in I.V. Theater and get ready for a perfect Thursday night in I.V.
