Even a well-maintained vehicle can start to sputter; when it does, all that’s needed is a tune-up. The UCSB men’s soccer machine got its oil changed and came out running smoothly Sunday night.

Sporting a revamped starting 11, the Gauchos (12-2-1 overall, 5-2-0 in the Big West) motored their way to a 2-0 victory over Cal Poly at Harder Stadium.

Coming off two consecutive Big West losses against Northridge and Irvine, UCSB Head Coach Tim Vom Steeg penciled in a new combination of forwards on the attack. Missing from the starting lineup were senior forwards Neil Jones and Drew McAthy.
