Made a few trips to the dump today. It’s expensive to use the dump.

Paying someone else to take my stuff got me thinking about the weird ways money works. There is paying for stuff you already own, like getting your car out of impound; paying for things you never wanted, like textbooks; and paying for the right to pay for stuff, like ATM surcharges. Then some of the best things are free: like love, music, “The Family Guy” and the Lakers.

What really makes me nuts is the cool stuff that comes free, but you have to pay to make work, like cell phones. And babies.

Thursday’s forecast: Did I just progress from dumping to babies? That was more coherent than I thought.
