Editor, Daily Nexus,

Looking forward to Halloween? The Associated Students Commission on Public Safety (ASCPS) wants you to maximize your pleasure and minimize your pain this year by coming out to the “Halloween Public Safety Town Hall Meeting” tonight at 6 in I.V. Theater. Some of your neighborhood IVFP officers, as well as other local police and administrators from the Office of Student Life, will be in attendance to give students and other Isla Vista residents the rundown on what measures are going to be taken this Halloween to minimize violence and protect the community. This is your chance to find out how to stay out of trouble and in the clear on Halloween. Bring your questions and your appetite. There will be a short presentation by the panel, a question-and-answer time and free food provided by Freebirds, Sam’s To Go, I.V. Market and others.

ASCPS is committed to promoting dialogue between I.V. residents and the police that serve our community. Through better understanding of one another we can work toward promoting a positive and fun atmosphere in I.V. So know your rights and know the rules, and come feed your curiosity along with your belly.
