Editor, Daily Nexus,

Between Oct. 23 and Oct. 26, UCSB’s Rape Prevention Education Program will initiate a new campaign entitled, “I Want a Truce.” This campaign seeks as its goal three days without sexual assault in our community. The Rape Prevention Education Program also hopes to raise awareness about this important issue and related concerns. Over this three day period, students with the Rape Education Program will be visible across our campus with information, posters, flyers and the like. Questions about this weekend can be directed to .

At UCSB, we believe that education is the best way to work toward an environment free of sexual assault. We are committed to creating and maintaining a community free of all forms of exploitation, intimidation and harassment. We strongly support this effort to inform and educate our campus and our community about the impact of sexual assault.

Please join us in working to maintain a community free of sexual assault – a community where all of us can live, work and learn with dignity and mutual respect.
