Members of the public are invited to attend a community education and planning meeting tonight to discuss the future of Goleta Beach, which has been plagued in recent years by storm-related erosion.

Representatives from the Santa Barbara County Recreation and Parks Dept. and other organizations like the Surfrider Foundation will be at the Goleta Valley Community Center Auditorium at 5679 Hollister Ave. from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The Parks Dept. will provide a history of the Goleta Beach erosion situation and then hold a planning session aimed at incorporating public opinion into future plans for beach and park protection.
