Niggaz With Attitude (N.W.A.) rips, backpedals, reverses field and touches back onto a ghetto blaster near you with the astounding and turbulent reissue of Straight Outta Compton. This, I hear from the hood, is the epic gangsta rap album of all time.

Like I would know. The intimate connection I share with N.W.A. comes from my brother’s friend’s older brother who got his rear end kicked at Taft High School by Eazy-E. Still, the beats are slick and clean, the anger is gritty and sticking, and with lyrics like, “saying some shit to make the bitches want to suck our dicks,” from “Something Like That,” how can anyone go wrong?

Originally released in 1988 when the Raiders actually rented the roach motel L.A. Coliseum, N.W.A. blazed the trail with “Straight Outta Compton.” The onslaught continues with “Fuck tha Police,” “Gangsta Gangsta” and “If It Ain’t Ruff.” The record wraps up with four bonus tracks, including an extended mix of “Express Yourself.”

These guy’s mouths are dirtier than sailors who scrubbed albatross shit off Bluebeard’s left nut in the days when the white man first eyed the San Fernando Valley and thought, “Damn, that place sucks.” Feed Dr. Dre, E, Ice Cube, MC Ren and DJ Yella bars of Irish Spring. (That won’t start Watts II, will it?) On second thought, scratch that. The fearsome fivesome have something relevant and entertaining to say, even if they can’t get steady jobs as marriage counselors.

I shake my head thinking how and why Dre would work with that royal, no-talent dipshit Eminem after helping elevate N.W.A. to the nation’s greatest rhyme athletes.
