The First Annual Jock Jam, a semi-formal dance and social, will take place tonight from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Earl Warren Showgrounds.

This event, largely put together through the efforts of Kim Sawyer, a junior second baseman on the softball team, and Jennifer Rudy, a junior gymnast, is a chance for Gaucho athletes to interact with students in Santa Barbara; all UCSB students are invited to attend the event. Sawyer hopes that 75% of athletes will attend, but expects about half to show up.

Transportation will not be a problem for students, as Bill’s Bus will pick up and drive anyone from the Thunderdome to the Showgrounds throughout the night. Tickets will go on sale at the door for $15. There will be free food, dances and prizes. Alcohol can also be purchased with a valid I.D.
