Local DJs Steve Huerta and Eugene Albert, better known as DJ GO FUNK URSELF and YOOJ, will spin tonight for Indochine’s weekly college night.

Headliner DJ GO FUNK URSELF a.k.a. Huerta, a fourth-year UCSB film and media studies major, said the show will provide a casual venue for funky electro house music.

Huerta said he began deejaying at Indochine the first weekend of Fall Quarter, hoping for a change of pace from house parties in I.V., and eventually took on some promoting duties for the venue.

“Since then I have been promoting every other week and deejaying just as much,” Huerta said. “It’s kind of smaller and has a really cool local vibe. The boss lets me have total creative freedom when it comes to throwing parties and the types of music played, which is quite rare for most clubs downtown.”

Albert, the fourth-year Italian major known colloquially as DJ Yooj, constitutes one half of Isla Vista-born electro house label EasyLove Records, which celebrated its second birthday last week. He will play a guest set.

Doors open at the Indochine Lounge on 434 State St. at 10 p.m. and close at 1:30 a.m. The show is for guests 21 and over.
