Cal State Northridge never stood a chance against the UCSB men’s soccer team, which won 4-0 for its seventh straight victory.

The scoring started early, with sophomore forward Sam Garza scoring one of his hat-trick goals in the fourth minute, then adding another just seven minutes later. After that, Northridge was unable to find its legs, conceding another first-half goal to freshman forward David Opoku.

Tonight’s was one of UCSB’s most efficient matches of the season, with the squad scoring its four goals after taking only 13 overall, with ten shots on goal. The team now moves to 10-3-2 and 6-1 in the Big West.

The Matadors’ struggles continue as they fall 2-11-2 overall, 1-5-1 in conference.

The Gauchos travel to Cal Poly on Wednesday as they take on the Mustangs in front of national television cameras, the second time this season UCSB has been featured on Fox Soccer Channel.
