A possible kidnapping incident occurred Sunday night, Nov. 16, on the 7000 block of Marketplace Drive next to the Camino Real Marketplace.

Witnesses told police they had seen two men jump out of a white van and grab a female at approximately 9 p.m. According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Dept., the men covered her head with an unidentified object and told her to enter the van. The van then left the scene and headed toward Albertsons grocery store in the University Plaza. Police said the van’s license number might be 3UC3923.

Witnesses described the men as being white, 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 8 inches tall, of medium build and in their early 20s. One of the men was wearing a gray shirt and blue jeans. Witnesses told police the female was approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall and of medium build. She reportedly was in her 20s and had medium-length brownish blonde hair.

Police said that as of yesterday morning, 12 hours after the incident, they had received no report of a missing person that matched the woman’s description.
