Gaucho Gaming is hosting “Cookie Run: Cookie Decorating Night” on Thursday, May 22, at 1 p.m in South Hall room 1430.

This event is free and open to everyone. Free sugar cookies and decorating supplies will be provided. 

Women’s Center holds ‘Film and Feminism: Building a Film from Zero’

The Women’s Center is holding “Film and Feminism: Building a Film from Zero” on Thursday, May 22, from 2-4 p.m. at the Student Resource Building (SRB) room 1220.

“Come learn how to break down a script into the specific of what you need to get started on your film from Alex Miriles, a UC Santa Barbara doctoral candidate who has worked in film, print, fashion, and commercial campaigns!” the Shoreline description read.

Free refreshments will be provided. Students are encouraged to bring a script they have written.

RCSGD hosts ‘It’s Queer Tarot Night!’

The Resource Center for Sexual and Gender Diversity (RCSGD) is hosting “It’s Queer Tarot Night!” on Thursday, May 22, from 5:30-7 p.m. at the RCSGD lounge.

UCSB Sustainability and A.S. Recycling hold ‘Grow Green: Turn Everyday Items into DIY Planters’

UCSB Sustainability and Associated Students (A.S.) Recycling are holding “Grow Green: Turn Everyday Items into DIY Planters” on Friday, May 23, from 10-11 a.m. at St. Michaels Community Garden.

“Learn how to recycle and reuse common household items—like cans, jars, and old containers—as unique planters for your garden or windowsill,” the Shoreline description read. 

This event is free and open to everyone of all skill levels.

Improvability is hosting Improvathon on Friday, May 23, at 8 p.m. to Saturday, May 24, at 8 p.m. at Embarcadero Hall.

Students who stay all 24 hours will receive a lifetime pass to improvability shows.

The A.S. Human Rights Board, Pages for Individuals in Prison and Success Stories are holding “Disrupting The Curriculm” on Tuesday, May 27, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the SRB Multipurpose Room (MPR).

“Join us for a workshop with Success Stories Program, created by incarcerated individuals and rooted in feminist theory, which helps people overcome harmful behaviors to create lasting change,” the Shoreline description read.

Educational Opportunity Program holds First-Gen/EOP Graduation Celebration

The Educational Opportunity Program is holding a First-Gen/EOP Graduation Celebration on Wednesday, May 28, from 4-6 p.m. at Corwin Pavilion.

“This event is meant to celebrate the accomplishment of graduating as first-generation college students. The event will include a keynote speaker who will congratulate and inspire these students on their accomplishments and their new journey beyond UCSB,” the Shoreline description read. 

This event is in collaboration with Opening New Doors to Accelerating Success, Transfer Student Center, Career Services and Successful Student Transitions. Free food will be provided.

The Women’s Center is hosting a Newly Published Grad Women Reception on Wednesday, May 28, from 6-8 p.m. at the SRB room 1220.
