Hello and welcome to this impromptu Artsweek section for 2012-2013’s Daily Nexus “Orientation Issue.”
As you may have already deduced, Artsweek is the Nexus’s weekly arts and culture section. Every Thursday, the Artsweek staff presents the UCSB community with the latest previews, reviews and original columns regarding every kind of art under the sun. Theater, dance, music, visual art, film, spoken word, comedy — you name it, we got it.
And if we don’t got it… Well, we’d like to meet you.
Artsweek is always looking for talented and passionate writers to join our family. The truth is, there are way too many great art events happening in Santa Barbara to cover everything. This fall alone, SB has the fortune of hosting Bob Dylan, Fiona Apple, Future Islands, Mac Miller, the Wombats, Rufus Wainwright, Whose Live Anyway?, Mike Burbiglia, Eddie Izzard and the list goes on … and on … and on.
If any of this strikes a chord with you, than please: check back in the Nexus for announcements of new writer orientation events, shoot us an email directly at Artsweek@dailynexus.com, follow us on Twitter (@artsweek1) or just drop by the office (under Storke Tower, near the KCSB studios).
And keep reading! I hope that whether or not writing is your thing, you enjoy the content we have lined up for you this year. It’s shaping up to be a good one.
But for now, just enjoy the rest of your summer, as we are. We’ll be back with killer coverage of Comic-Con, Outside Lands, Strawberry Music Festival, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass and more in October. See ya then.
