UCSB softball kicked off their preseason schedule on Saturday in a big way, taking a double-header win against Cal State Monterey Bay. The Gauchos got a chance to bat all the way through their line-up and it was decided that the two games would be brought together into a single twelve-inning contest. UCSB would win the newly formatted match 12-9, bringing them a win over the Otters.
UCSB women’s tennis opened its 2010-11 season this weekend, hosting the inaugural UCSB Classic. The tournament featured players from UCSB, Pepperdine, Arizona, BYU, Cal Poly, Denver University and Eastern Washington University.
The UCSB women’s volleyball team persevered on the road Saturday night, surviving a late comeback by Cal Poly to beat the Mustangs 3-2.
Senior utility Milos Golic notched his 246th career goal with the Gauchos this weekend, breaking a 27-year-old record as the #5 UCSB men’s water polo team defeated both Concordia and Harvard in a Sunday doubleheader.
