I’ll let you off easy because you’re a freshie, but you could not be more wrong about the aims of safe sex education. First of all, sex is awesome. Enough said. Second of all, the one thing you always hear after every lesson in safe sex is that ABSTINENCE IS THE SAFEST AND BEST WAY TO PREVENT PREGNANCY AND STIS.

I used all caps because they pretty much yell it at you. Nobody is telling us to or encouraging us to hump because we are going to “do it anyway,” but rather we are taught methods in which we can protect ourselves from these things just in case we “do it anyway.”

There’s a big difference between the two, and maybe if you had been paying attention during such lessons instead of plugging your ears and preaching about immorality and depravity, you would have saved yourself some time by not writing in Thursday’s paper.
