University Children’s Center Support Fee

The University Children’s Center Support Fee helps student families pay for childcare, as well as helps subsidize the Orfalea Family Children’s Center and the University Children’s Center in the Student Resource Building. The program is worth continuing and the quarterly $3.00-per-student fund helps provide a service otherwise unavailable.

The Daily Nexus strongly endorses the University Children’s Center Support Fee.

UCSB/MTD Superticket Bus Program

The UCSB/MTD Superticket Bus Program Fee continues support for the UCSB/Metropolitan Transit District Bus Program. The quarterly $9.38-per-student fee provides students with an up-to-date registration sticker for free bus fare in or around Santa Barbara. Most students use the MTD service sooner or later, particularly freshmen or people without a car.

CLAS Support Fee

The Campus Learning Assistance Services Support Fee maintains the current level of CLAS group and drop-in tutorials. CLAS offers immeasurable – and free – support to students in need of a second opinion on papers, or sometimes just someone to double-check a particularly nasty physics problem. The quarterly $6.00-per-student fee is well worth the price of admission, in our book.

The Daily Nexus strongly endorses the Campus Learning Assistance Services Support Fee.

Student Health Service Support Fee

The Student Health Service Support Fee continues funding for such student health services as urgent care, same-day appointments and psychiatry. We feel this makes the quarterly $7.00-per-student fee an essential component of the university, and is well worth continuing.

The Daily Nexus strongly endorses the Student Health Service Support Fee.
