Editor’s Note – We’ve received a number of letters in response to Tawni Wold’s letter, “Friends are Free; Save Some Cash And Forget Sororities” (Daily Nexus, Oct. 5). The following letters are those responses, edited for space constraints.

Editor, Daily Nexus,

I am proud to say that I am part of the greek system, which has given me many fond memories and lifelong friends. If you are not a greek, I am sure you know someone who is and value that bond just as much as any you may make in college.

I am sorry if you have come into contact with a sorority girl who, for whatever reason, was not the friendliest to you or perhaps a guy, who happened to be in a fraternity, rejected you. This is my support system and these are the people who have been there for me when I first dealt with being homesick and heartbroken for the first time. Tawni, I am sorry that you would rather close your heart to an amazing group of people.
