Electricians working in Davidson Library accidentally set off fire alarms in the building and caused the evacuation of students and staff inside Wednesday afternoon.
UC Police Dept. officers cleared dozens of students and faculty out of the library around 1:45 p.m. as fire alarms rang and emergency lights flashed.
Many evacuated students gathered in the courtyard in front of the building and continued studying.
UCPD officer Mark Signa said firefighters arriving on the scene entered the building and reset the fire alarm, and people were allowed to re-enter around 2 p.m. No injuries were reported.
